Beautiful expressive landscapes by contemporary textile artist Dionne Swift.

Dionne  loves nothing more than to take a long walk, starting from her Yorkshire based studio the stunning surroundings offer endless inspirations, she makes drawings and sketches capturing the moods, colours and changing shapes all around her. These are energetically translated sewing directly onto the canvas or into the drawings, the mark making is fast and furious, the vibrant threads or moody subtlety of colours creates a lasting visual memory of her surroundings. Dionne sews as she draws, draws as she sews – using her sewing machine as a mark making tool.

Big in Japan

Japanese TV film crew on location in The Arc

Following our feature in a Japanese travel magazine, we were asked to star in a travel documentary  showcasing the best of Chester. Due for broadcast in December 13 and January 14, the programme will follow the presenter on her travels in and around Chester. Jan helped her select scarves and jewellery and showed her different ways to tie and wear a velvet scarf by Diane Jones.
