Summer Exhibition :
Showing the work of three new artists who’s work is inspired by birds, their characteristics and personalities.
Liz Toole’s original paintings on driftwood and hand-printed limited edition prints.
Katy Taylor’s delightfully detailed copper bird sculptures.
Debbie Barber’s tactile decorated Raku ceramic bird sculptures.
These delightful original paintings on driftwood by Liz Toole have just flown into the shop. There’s something about Liz’s bird characters and the colours she uses that lend themselves so beautifully to the lovely found pieces of driftwood that have been naturally shaped and weathered by the ocean. Liz paints directly onto the wood and each piece captures the bird’s characteristics. These artworks can be wall hung or are sometimes freestanding.
This work is part of an exhibition called A Little Bird Told Me which focuses on work by three new makers, Liz Toole, Katy Taylor and Debbie Barber who are all inspired by birds.
We are so happy to be open again and looking forward to seeing all of our lovely customers soon. To help us all stay safe we have implemented a few safety policies including a perspex screen at the till.
We are only allowing 2 customers inside the shop at a time.
We are also asking you to use hand sanitiser before handling stock.
We’ve also decided to only accept card payments just at the moment.
Please also keep 2 meters apart. With these procedures in place we hope to keep everyone safe and be able to bring you the very Best of British Craft and Design once again.
