Katharina Klug And Friends

Katharina Klug has burst onto the scene recently with huge success and collectors are clamouring after every kiln firing. We are lucky to have a beautiful selection of Katharina’s delightful ceramics for sale at our gallery and hopefully a few more to follow soon before Katharina disappears for a while on maternity leave.

We are particularly fond of Katharina’s Friends range shown in this  image, which illustrates perfectly how Katharina’s ceramics explore the simplicity of shape combined with surface pattern in perfect balance.

Design and development of shapes is a central element of her work. Naive, spontaneous pencil, crayon lines and simple graphic patterns create movement and direction. Every line is drawn by hand and captures the moment of making into each pot. The narrative of her work is found in  the world around her, in its many patterns and moods.

Tone Von Krogh Ceramics

We are thrilled to be stocking Tone Von Krogh’s delightful ceramics.

Tone Von Krogh Ceramics – Cheshire-based potter, Tone’s Norwegian roots are evident in her elegant tableware collection. She produces a range of stoneware vases, jugs, candlesticks, bottles and mugs with a colour palette of whites, greys, turquoise and mauves, influenced by the snowy winter landscapes and hues of her childhood homeland.

Margo Selby Lambswool Throws

Margo Selby’s lambswool throws are now in stock at The Arc Gallery.

Sakuru and Kozo have captured inspirations and styling from both Japanese Boro textiles and with the use of  bold compositions, a nod to the design qualities found in American quilts. Using the blanket as a canvas Margo has designed large scale geometric compositions incorporating a subtle harmonious blend of monochrome lambswool yarns, creating bold luxurious textiles with fantastic quality and finish, each throw can be folded to reveal intricate patterns within each design.

Limited to a run of only 60 pieces per design, and originally designed on her handloom in Whitstable the final product is produced in a Scottish mill, Margo’s ethos of ‘art into industry’ champions the craft of the hand weaver alongside the skill and expertise of specialist industrial mills who’s quality materials and honed manufacturing skills allow her to create such exceptional products.
