EXHIBITION 12 MARCH – 12 MAY
We are delighted to be holding this fantastic exhibition at The Arc, it runs along with the galleries normal opening times and everyone is extremely welcome to come along and view this beautiful collaboration of work.
LANDSCAPE HARMONIES:- A combined exhibition bringing together the work of two Yorkshire artists.
Penny Withers is a ceramicist known for her wheel thrown vessels. From her studio in Sheffield Penny uses stoneware and porcelain, together with monochrome glazes to reflect tonal ranges of light. Surface references are also made to particular places or points in time by brushwork and painterly use of combined glazes. The vessels convey a peaceful serenity which harmonises perfectly with the work of Fibre Artist Valerie Wartelle. Her series of Earthlungs, a beautiful collection of textile pictures made using wool silk and mixed media using various processes including felting capture the colours and textures of the landscape around her workshop in Halifax. The exhibition runs from 12 March – 12 May.
